Why I'm Writing
That was then...In 2012 I began recalibrating my life, which included withdrawing from most of the activities and organizations that had consumed my time, so I could align what I do with the priorities of my heart. I've primarily focused on spiritual growth, nurturing personal relationships, and improving my physical health. I also challenged myself to write something regularly, and imagined I'd feel more accountable if I "published." That fantasy birthed this blog site. While it might generously be noted my history of posting regularly has been sporadic (to say the least,) I still believe I can discipline myself to write regularly.
I'm married, partially employed, and I sometimes prefer dogs to people. I've been blessed with amazing friends and family, yet I agree with Seinfeld's TV show perspective that adult communities (of any kind) are really just middle schools with older students. (Updated October 2014)
This is now...Last year I moved into a new decade of my life. Everything above still rings true, but I'm embracing the journey more than obsessing about the destination. My emotional life has been a roller coaster, and there are unavoidable dark valleys ahead. Yet, I feel stronger and more confident. I understand I'm not in control, change is inevitable, and I have the power to choose how I deal with it.
Welcome to my world.
