My sister gave me a calendar, one that can stand or be hung up, each day and weekend having its own page.
She said it reminded her of me, no doubt because its title Simplicity: Inspirations for a Simpler Life reflects a personal aspiration I discuss frequently.

My first reaction was dismay. My go-to calendar is synced to my digital devices; the only paper one in the house is G’s.
Yet, I didn’t want this one to be just “a thought that counts,” so I hung it in my bathroom where would I see it every morning.
My sister knows my heart. Her gift is a thought that counts. Every day.
